HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!
As you can imagine... Valentine's Day is just as wonderful in Italy! We had 4 classes this morning... Art History, Italian, History, and Cooking! I love Mondays because the market is open in Ariccia and we always have our cooking class with Mary Lou! Who knew I would ever look forward to Monday!? :)
Mary Lou's Zucchini and Shrimp Pasta
Cinzia's Chocolate Molten Cake
The pasta was light but filling and the cake was warm and rich! aka perfecto!
First Mary Lou cut the zucchinis in half (twice) and then sliced them!
Quick way to have 4 small pieces! |
...and chopped the onions! |
She filled the pan with olive oil then added the onions (they take longer to cook).
After a few minute she then added the zucchini, some wine, and 2 bouillon cubes for flavor! |
After the vegetables had cooked, she added the baby shrimp! |
Covered and stirred occasionally :) |
After the vegetables and shrimp were done, they were added to the pasta (Penne Rigate)! |
...and then it's ready to eat!! |
Very pleased with their lunch :) |
And now for Cinzia's Cake...
Chocolate Molten Cake ingredients! |
Combine the butter, chocolate bars, sugar, and cream into a bowl.
Do not stir them!!! |
While boiling a pot of water, butter and flour the individual dishes!
(Like Jamie and Mary Cate are doing so wonderfully) |
Once the water has boiled... put the bowl of ingredients on top
to make a double boiler! |
It will melt almost instantly! |
After it's all melted, remove it from the stove, and stir it thoroughly. Once stirred, add the eggs!
12 of them!! You must stir the eggs in very quickly so they do not cook from the heat! |
Then... mix in the flour! |
Now you can pour the mix into the already greased bowls! |
Put them in the oven for 8 minutes! |
... and TADAAA!! |
Dump the cakes upside down onto plates!
Ann also added a yummy yogurt for decoration! So cute for Valentine's Day :) |
SO GOOD. |
Happy Birthday Elizabeth!!!! |
Now do you see why Mondays in Italy are so much fun?? Can't wait to cook for you all when I get back!! Tonight we are all going to dinner together then coming back to the palace to watch
