International Superstars

This post is dedicated solely to the Hard Rock Cafe [Rome] and my love for its FOOD and its ability to make 11 American girls oh so HAPPY!

So... I mentioned at the end of my last post how we had all been craving American food and when we passed the Hard Rock this week we knew we had to make a date with it VERY soon!

Well last night was Elizabeth's birthday aka the perfect opportunity to go! We took the 7:49 train to Rome and by the time we got to the Hard Rock there was a 2 hour and 50 min wait [even if we split up]... are you kidding me? Simultaneously, all 11 of our mouths dropped as we made shocked/disappointed faces and comments. We slowly made out way outside [while passing delicious ribs, burgers, and fries] with our heads hung, drooling.

Being pitiful must have its benefits... because seconds later the manager came over to us and said he saw how we reacted to the wait and noticed we were Americans in need of food so he was gonna try to "hook us up". Sweet! He was also American, from Boston, just moved here because of the economy and got a job at one of the few places he didn't have to be fluent at Italian! So anyway... not even 20 minutes later he comes to get us and brings us to this big table in the back room of the restaurant. We all started cheering and hugging him! You would have thought we hadn't eaten in months! haha

The rest of the night they treated us like celebrities and we were LOVING it. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and my friend Jamie ordered a pulled pork sandwich, and we split them! We also got nachos as an appetizer and sprites with ICE! haha! It was perfect! We were all on cloud 9 and so were our full stomachs! They even came out with ice cream and sang Happy Birthday to Elizabeth in english afterward.

We were done and able to move on to our next activity before we were even supposed to be seated originally. It doesn't get much better than that.

I think we will be making many more appearances at the Hard Rock. Thank you Alberto from Boston. We love you!! :)
